Our Story

Swapping city life for a slower pace in Kilkivan.

Kilkivan has always held a special place in Lucinda’s heart - it’s where her family is from, and where her mum has lived for most of her life. After meeting in Brisbane and getting married, Lucinda and Matteo built a life in the city, but the pull of country life never truly faded.

A few years later, the timing felt right. Wanting to be closer to family and live a slower, more connected lifestyle, they decided to return to Lucinda’s hometown of Kilkivan. When the opportunity came up to take over Lucinda’s mum’s bed and breakfast, everything fell into place, and Kilkivan Homestead was born.

With a shared love of hosting and creating memorable experiences, Lucinda and Matteo have poured their hearts into growing the Homestead. Matteo's Italian heritage brings a warm, welcoming flair to everything they offer - from the food and hospitality to the atmosphere that makes every guest feel like they're family.
